On,
Sunday, March 16, 2008, the Boat Club held there first meeting of the 2008
boating season. Commodore Lance Hustedde called the meeting to order at
1:18 p.m. There were 18 members that attended the meeting at the
Lighthouse.
Treasurer’s Report:
There is $291.71 in the checking account and $4,655.43 in the Money Market account. Joe Hustedde made a motion to approve this report, second by Pam Fuller. Motion passed.
Old Business:
There was no Secretary’s Report to read and no other old business was brought before the members.
New Business:
A slate of officers for 2008 was brought before the members by the nominating committee. This list was Lance Hustedde, Commodore; David Barron, Vice Commodore; Joy Powelson, Secretary;
Marcia Burnett, Treasurer; and Ralph and Sue Mattingly, Fleet Captains. A motion was made to approve this slate of officers by Pam Fuller and seconded by Paul Rea. The slate of officers was approved as read by the members.
It was also discussed that the dinners at the meetings should be “Potluck” with each member to bring some dish, and the Boat Club to provide the main course.
Members discussed changing the meeting time with a goal of making our meetings easier to attend. Many ideas were discussed. The April meeting was set for Saturday, April 19, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. This is to be a Saturday evening meeting. Options for other times can be discussed at the next meeting. Ed Shahan made a motion that this meetings food should be completely “Potluck”. Nancee Shahan seconded and this motion was passed by the members. This meeting is set to include an Adult Easter Egg hunt.
Lance Hustedde brought to the attention of the members that Two Rivers Marina had sustained some computer damage this last month and that Jaime Aslin was going to re-enter all gate cards into the system. Please contact her and give her the number off the back of your cards and she will re-enter them.
Jaime Aslin discussed a need to set an agenda for our club events, as most all the other local clubs have set their 2008 calendars already and put them up on their web sites.
Kathleen Hustedde made a motion that we set a standing Entertainment Committee. This motion was seconded by Ed Shahan. This motion was added by setting a slate of members. Kathleen Hustedde, Jaime Aslin, Nancee Shahan, Joy Powelson, Pam Fuller, Marcia Burnett, Paul Rea, and Lance Hustedde. The motion and slate of members were approved by the members.
Our third Sand Bar Party was set for June 20th. Lance has free music planned for this day. We will set a low price on leftover shirts for this event. The members discussed selling some of these shirts thru the Marina office. Ed Shahan mentioned reprinting a few with something on the back to help sell these leftover shirts. Kathleen Hustedde mentioned maybe selling off a few of the remainders as “numbered” shirts for a raffle at the next meeting with 2009 dues as the prize.
A motion was made by Joe Hustedde to adjourn the meeting and seconded by Ed Shahan. Motion was approved by the members.
After the meeting was over a housekeeping issue was brought up. The Two Rivers Marina Boat Club flag at the Marina office is looking sad. It was decided to replace this flag and order a few more from Deters Sign Company.
